The story of a photographer
Born in Kenya, Africa in 2003, I was born into a world that was as vast and beautiful as it was challenging and complex. Growing up, especially as a triplet, there was never a dull moment; I was always a part of something bigger. That was until the summer leading into their freshman year of high school when I discovered a passion for photography that would change my life forever.
The first time I picked up a camera, they felt a connection that I had never felt before. The way I could capture a moment in time, freeze it forever, and share it with others was an amazing feeling. I spent countless hours experimenting with different angles, lighting, and compositions, and before I knew it, people started paying attention.
But my love for photography was not just about taking pictures. It was also about using their art to tell stories and to connect with people in a way that went beyond words. Through my lens, I was able to capture the essence of my homeland, its people, and its culture in a way that I had never seen before. And as I shared my work with others, I realized that I had a gift - a talent that they could use to inspire, educate, and bring joy to others.
Over time, my passion for photography took me to new heights. I traveled to different parts of Kenya and the US, capturing stunning images that showcased the beauty and diversity of humanity. I also used my art to raise awareness about social issues, such as Black Lives Matter, discrimination, and injustice, and to advocate for change.
As I reflect on their journey thus far, I feel grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion and make a difference in the world. I am extremely proud of my roots and the culture that shaped them, and I am excited to continue using my talent to make an impact in the world.
